English Description

My research GLASS FOR GOLD starts from the image of a sentence that we learn in the school “Spanish explorers arriving to the New World were carrying fantastic colorful and transparent objects that impressed the natives … and there was an imperious desire from the conquerors to collect the magnificent gold pieces by any means possible”. This interesting historical research took me to find specific objects that were traveling from Europe to America during the time of the discovery and conquest of the new world. “Following the glass beads movements from China to Venice, form Babylon to Moravia, from England to Africa, from Spain to America, we get to know that the first glass pieces that arrived to America were faceted Chevron beads made in Murano, Venice”.

La mia ricerca Vetro per Oro nasce dall'immagine di una frase che abbiamo imparato a scuola. “Gli esploratori spagnoli in arrivo nel Nuovo Mondo trasportavano fantastici oggetti colorati e trasparenti che impressionavano gli indigeni… e il desiderio dei conquistatori per raccogliere i magnifici pezzi d'oro con ogni mezzo possibile”. Questa interessante ricerca storica mi ha portato a trovare oggetti specifici che viaggiavano dall'Europa all'America durante il periodo della scoperta e della conquista del nuovo mondo. “Seguendo i movimenti delle perle di vetro dalla Cina a Venezia, da Babilonia alla Moravia, dall'Inghilterra all'Africa, dalla Spagna all'America, veniamo a sapere che i primi pezzi di vetro arrivati in America erano Perline Chevron sfaccettate realizzate a Murano, Venezia”.

English Description

The Sagrada Familia Temple is a great treasure of cultural heritage of humanity. 

The recent realization of glass sculptures commissioned by the Temple has open for me the doors to the research that nourishes this conference. The research has allowed me to discover amazing details after many interviews with architects, artists as Joan Vila-Grau, creator of the stained glass windows, visits to the industrials, artists and craftsmen, studies at the Gaudi Research Institute and the large photographic registration of the presence of natural light inside the temple that fills up the space with different touches of color all year around. This way I gave shape to my conferences about glass, light and color at the temple and about the thinking and way of building of the great master Antoni Gaudi.

Il Tempio della Sagrada Familia è un grande tesoro del patrimonio culturale dell'umanità. La recente realizzazione di sculture in vetro commissionate per il Tempio mi ha aperto le porte alla ricerca che alimenta questa conferenza. La ricerca mi ha permesso di scoprire dettagli sorprendenti dopo molte interviste con architetti, artisti come Joan Vila-Grau, creatore delle vetrate del tempio, visite agli industriali, artisti e artigiani, studi al Gaudi Research Institute, e la grande registrazione fotografica della presenza di luce naturale all'interno del tempio che riempie lo spazio di diversi tocchi di colore tutto l'anno. Ho così dato forma alle mie conferenze sul vetro, la luce e il colore al tempio e sul pensiero e il modo di costruire del grande maestro Antoni Gaudi.
